What Play Foundry collects, why it is needed, and the choices you have over your information.
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Play Foundry community administration is responsible for the personal data used to operate this website. We collect only what is needed for accounts, community features, safety and legal compliance. Your email address is never shown publicly.
01
What we collect
Email address, display name, account ID, role and status; games, platforms, availability, play preferences and optional accessibility requirements used for matching; posts, reviews, game submissions, session bookings, notifications, referrals, reports and privacy requests; essential authentication, security and service log data; and temporary live-presence or “available now” information. If you choose Google or Discord sign-in, that provider supplies your name, email address and provider account identifier to Supabase for authentication. If you choose to publish a public member page, its address, introduction, games, platforms and “looking for” statement are visible to anyone until you switch it off. If you allow analytics, we also record an anonymous random visitor ID, page path and a limited list of actions such as starting registration or viewing a session. Journey analytics never contain your name or email address.
02
Why we use it
To verify accounts, recommend compatible sessions and players, provide reminders and community features, measure genuine referrals, moderate content, prevent abuse, secure the service and meet legal duties. We rely on performance of our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating a safe community, consent where requested and legal obligations where applicable.
03
Who can see it
Your display name and published contributions may be public when the site is public. A separate member profile is public only when you deliberately enable it from My account. Administrators can see account and moderation information. Supabase provides authentication, database and server functions; Google and Discord provide optional OAuth sign-in; ChatGPT Sites provides website hosting. Providers process data under their own safeguards.
04
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Published content remains until removed or your account is deleted. Resolved safety reports are normally kept for up to 12 months. Safety incident, moderation-audit and privacy-request records are normally kept for up to 24 months, unless security, safeguarding or law requires preservation for longer.
05
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. You may delete your account directly, submit a request below, and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your data has been mishandled.
06
Storage & transfers
Service providers may process data outside the UK. We use providers that publish contractual and transfer safeguards. The site currently uses essential browser storage for sign-in. Optional, first-party journey analytics use browser storage only after you choose “Allow analytics”. We do not run advertising trackers or marketing analytics cookies.
Privacy controls
Make a privacy request.
You can update your display name or delete your entire account from My account. For anything else, send a request here. Please do not include passwords or highly sensitive information.
